Imats Tag

1. Which imats are you attending?
I am going to the London IMATS on the Sunday as I live in England...
2.Have you attended imats before?
No, This will be my first time at one and I am super excited!
3.How are you getting there?
I am going by coach as trains don't run very well on Sundays.
4.Are you bringing any one along with you?
Nope, braving it on my own but I am hoping to meet up with a few people once I'm there.
5. Is there anything else in the imats host city that you want to go to?
Not really as I was born in London and all my family live there so I have done most of the touristy things.
6. What days will you be in the imats host city?
I am leaving my house at 5:30am Sunday Morning and coming back in the evening.
7. Who do you want to meet?
I would love to see my friend Jess from Tokyo at some point as I haven't seen her in ages. I would also love to meet Laura from Belles Boutique and Britt from JustLovesFashion along with a few other people.
8. What company exhibits are you most exited to see?
NYX, Makeup Forever, Naked Cosmetics,Ccrown Brushes and OCC.
9. What products are you looking for?
I am mainly looking for products that are hard to get hold of in the UK such as a Beauty Blender, NYX jumbo eye pencil, Z palette... I am also looking out for some more eye brushes, cheek brushes and a natural eyeshadow palette.
10. How much do you plan to spend?
Around £100. To some people this will seem a lot but I think it is justifiable as this is an event that only happens once a year and tickets aren't cheap so you want to get your money's worth.
11. What do you want to get out of imats?
I am looking forward to getting some new makeup bits and pieces but also to meet some lovey people!

Have you been to IMATS?

Real Techniques Expert Face Brush

I ordered this brush on Amazon a couple of weeks ago a after seeing it in some of Tanya Burrs Youtube videos and oh my, it is just divine. I have tried a few different brushes to apply foundation but this is by far the best, the brush is so soft and the perfect size as it is big enough for cheeks and precise enough to get around smaller areas like my nose. I also own the core collection, eye collection and stippling brush from real techniques, they are by far my favourite brand for brushes.

What do you use to apply foundation?

GUEST POST: Products In The Spotlight

Hello everyone, I'm Chloe from http://chloehasamoustache.blogspot.co.uk/ I'm doing a guess post for Hattie while she is doing her exam (good luck Hattie!) so I hope you enjoy.

I'm going to talk about a few products that have just stood out for me recently. I love all things cheap and I am a bargain hunter so all the products I talk about are going to be affordable.

MUA Undress You Skin foundation - I'm loving this foundation at the moment, it makes your skin look amazing and only costs £5! It gives a dewy finish to the skin. The only problems with it are it doesn't come in many shades, at all, it only comes in two colours which are both paler shades and it feels a little tacky on the skin, something I have found with most MUA foundations, but if you keep topping up with powder you should feel fine.

Aussie Dual Personality Curl Definition + Soft Feel Serum - I love having curly hair and after years of wanting it straight my hair has lost most of it's natural curl (you always want what you can't have, right?) but I've found this to be a god sent product! It's amazing, I dry my hair so it's still has wet patches but isn't fully dry and then I use 2 pumps and apply it to my hair and as my hair dries it gets beautiful curls. I love it so much and it doesn't leave my hair feeling greasy.

Rimmel I <3 Last Finish Fruities Collection '053 Apricot Punch' - I love the formula of this nail varnish, I can wear it for 4 days, without a topcoat and there will be very little chips. It's amazing and it's only £2.99, bargain! Only downfall is they don't have many colours out in this range which is a shame but I will definitely be looking out for more.

I hope you have found some beauty bargains in this post. What are your products in the spotlight?

Thanks so much for doing this post Chloe, I actually have the serum myself so can also vouch for it!

£50 Room Challenge - Money Supermarket

Last week I got an email from Money Supermarket asking if I wanted to take part in their Room For Improvement challenge, of course I leaped at the chance!

The idea is that you are as creative as possible to change the feel and look of a room for under £50.

The room I chose to change is not actually a room but more of a corridor between my bedroom and bathroom although it has become a dumping ground for things that need to go in the loft or car boot.

First I moved out everything from the area and decided what I already had that I could go there. I then painted a wooden cabinet white which was actually a lot easier than expected although it is chipping a little as I didn't sand it enough. I then went out and bought three cactuses to give the room a bit of life and various bits and bobs for the cabinet!

I am so happy with the results as  now have another storage space and area where I can do my makeup!

What do you think of the makeover?

Disclaimer: £50 was provided by money supermarket for the purpose of this post.

Benefit Bristol Event - Stay Flawless

On wednesday evening I was lucky enough to go to Bristol Benefit's launch of their new Stay Flawless Primer. The event was held at The Living Room Bristol and was attended by twenty or so bloggers and  of course some of the lovely Benefit ladies.

The event was started off with a little talk on how Benefit came about and then a demonstration of Stay Flawless from Lisa. There was also a little quiz afterwards but unfortunately my slow reactions meant I didn't win anything!

To my delight we were then colour matched to the Oxygen Wow Foundation and give one to try with the primer.

It was also lovely to speak with Jade, Laura, Hannah and Mali about all things blogging and beauty!

Benefit also brought along the most gorgeous cuckoo clock themed props and a dressing table stocked up with products for us to have a play with!

The Stay Flawless Primer is in a stick form and has no added shimmer or colour so I can see it becomes an everyday must have. As the foundation has SPF it will certainly come in handy in the summer months especially as it is a tad too dark for me at the moment. Definitely looking forward to giving these a proper go and reviewing them for you!

Finally here's a group photo from Benefit's Twitter although I seem to be hiding behind Mali...

Stay Flawless is set to launch on the 29th June from all Benefit boutiques around the country.

What's your favourite benefit product?

Great Gatsby Collab with Brittneyannexoxo

The hugely anticipated Great Gatsby movie and here and with it Brittney and I's 20's inspired makeup looks. When she tweeted to ask if anyone wanted to collaborate I leaped at the chance as I really love her makeup looks.

Here is my look, inspired by Daisy from the movie. I opted for  a natural eye, peachy pink cheeks and elongated eyebrows to give them that classic twenties look.

Here is Brittney's look:

I love If you haven't already check out Brittney's blog, she does the most amazing makeup looks and is such a sweet person!

Origins Haul

Out of Trouble Mask £20, Super Spot Remover £13, Various Samples

Last week I made a naughty Origins purchase, justified by the fact I got eight generously sized samples free with the order! First up was the Super spot remover which for me has the ultimate holy grail status and is definitely the most effective spot treatment I've ever tried, it can clear a breakout in under a day! At the time I could't find my other one and purchased this as a backup. I also got the Out of Trouble Mask which is said to be a 'ten minute rescue to problem skin.' Although I do like my masks I tend to purchase them in the cutesy little sachets so I can try out different brands. The samples I received included a 15ml Vitazing, 30ml Zero Oil Deep Pore Cleanser and 7ml Charcoal Mask.

Overall I am so so pleased with what I ordered and despite Origins being a tad on the pricey side I feel it is worth it!

How do you feel about Origins products?
